NBA Games: 3/2/11

There are some great lines to bet on tonight. Let's see if I can follow up my 9-1-1 performance yesterday with something similar today.

Warriors vs. Wizards

This is a pretty easy call. Go with the Warriors at (-1). They are by far the better team, although you can't tell by their record. This is slightly risky because they are away and have only won 7 on the road, however I can not justify betting on the Wizards team against the high-octane Warriors squad.

Spurs vs. Cavaliers

This is a tough call. The Cavaliers are gutted after trading away Mo Williams, not having Baron Davis, and sustaining an injury to Antawn Jamisen. However, the Spurs are missing Tony Parker. All being considered, I am going to play it safe with this one and call Spurs on the money line at (-500).

Bulls vs. Hawks

Go with the Bulls on the money line at (-160). They have been playing inspired basketball against a slumping Hawks team. They are currently fighting for the top playoff seed against a team that just lost to the gutted Denver Nuggets. Rose will live up to the MVP chants in this game.

Hornets vs. Knicks

I am not touching this one. The Knicks will be playing without Chauncey Billups against a Hornets team that is looking to break out of a slump. Expect poor chemistry from the Knicks, and my tentative call is the Hornets at +2.5.

Timberwolves vs. Pistons

Go with the Timberwolves at +5, and buy 3 insurance points. The Pistons are a slumping team riddled with internal strife, against a Timberwolves team that has been playing fairly well as of late. Look for Kevin Love to  play a big role in at least keeping this game close.

Suns vs. Celtics

This a close call, but I'm calling the Suns at +7 with 3 points of insurance to make it a +10. I do think that the Celtics will win, but they are still integrating their post trade players into the rotation and the Suns have been winning lately. Also, Doc Rivers will sit his aging stars if it is a blowout, which would allow Phoenix to keep the score within 10.

Pacers vs. Thunder

Look for the Thunder to bounce back against the struggling Pacers and bet on the money line at (-330). The honeymoon period for coach Vogel has ended and it simply does not look likely that Indiana is going to be able to beat OKC at home. Also, Indiana is coming off of a tough win against Golden State, so look for a slow start against a fast-paced Thunder team.

Nuggets vs. Bobcats

I would go with the Nuggets at -6.5, and buy three to lower the risk to only -3.5. They are a hot team that is playing a Charlotte squad that lost their all star player and face of the franchise and that has a unique home field advantage due to their high altitude. Look for the Bobcats to keep it close early, then die out, as the starters get tired and Coach Silas has to dig deeper into his bench.

Blazers vs. Kings

This is an easy call. Go with the Blazers on the money line at -150. The Kings are overrated playing in this game against an inspired Portland team that is jostling for playoff seeding. Portland has won four consecutive games on the road and look for them to continue this streak here.

Rockets vs. Clippers

This is a fairly easy call to make. Take the Rockets at +3, and buy 3 to push it to +6. Although I am a fan of the Blake Show, the Clippers have been in a huge slump since the All Star Break and the Rockets have won 5 straight and have inserted themselves back into playoff contention. Look for the Rockets to continue their momentum into this game, and minimize risk by taking the points, as there is no way that the Rockets will lose by more than 6.
