NBA Games: 3/12/11

Today, I hope to make up for my horrible performance yesterday: and fortunately there are some quality betting lines.

Grizzlies vs. Heat

My bet is the Grizzlies at +8 and pushing it to +11. The Grizzlies are a good team that need to maintain their tenuous grip on the 8 seed in the West. Also, the Heat played great against the Lakers, but also had a 5 game losing streak before that. Look for a close game here.

Hawks vs. Blazers

Both teams are playing in the second night of a back-to-back and have to make up for recent losses. I think this will be a close game, but my bet is on Portland at +1, and then pushing it to +4. Look for a close game here, but I think Aldridge and the Blazers will prevail, so that they do not risk losing their playoff spot.

Clippers vs. Wizards

Both teams suck. Stay away.

Hornets vs. Kings

The Hornets at (-550) is a good insurance pick here. They are fighting to stay in playoff contention and are facing a horrible Kings team that has lost 5 straight. Look for CP3 to come out strong here, and beat the Kings at home for the 5th consecutive time.'

Jazz vs. Bulls

The Bulls on the (-700) money line is a great security bet. The BUlls have been playing their best basketball of the season against a horrible Utah team that is slumping and just lost to the Timberwolves.

76ers vs. Bucks

I think the 76ers at +2 and than pushing it to +5 is a great betting line. The 76ers have been playing great ball recently and have been fighting for the 6th seed. The Bucks have been playing mediocre against bad teams, and I don't think they can contain the 76ers.

Spurs vs. Rockets

Go with the Spurs at (-1.5) here and buy 1 insurance to make it a (-.5). The Rockets have been playing well but might be without Luis Scola. The Spurs have been hot recently and the Rockets are coming off of a close loss to Phoenix. Its a tough pick, but I'm going with the Spurs.

Lakers vs. Mavericks

Tough call. Both are great teams that are playing well. Both have recently suffered some embarassing losses. In this situation, I'm going to take the Lakers at +1 and push it to +4. When in doubt, go with the points.

Nuggets vs. Pistons

The Nuggets at (-600). The Pistons have been playing horrible and the Nuggets have been one of the hottest teams in the league. Easy call here.
